The Pellissippi Blueway conserves and promotes the wild lands and waters of the Clinch River for recreation, environmental protection, and public access. Through partnerships and trail development, we work to improve access, enhance safety, and provide educational opportunities for all who visit.

What can you do on the Blueway?
Paddle, fish, drift, and explore as you move through one of East Tennessee’s most scenic waterways. The Pellissippi Blueway offers 3–7 mile paddling segments with calm, cool waters perfect for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Anglers will find excellent opportunities for trout, bass, and panfish along both the Clinch River and Melton Hill Lake, while nature lovers can enjoy quiet coves, forested shorelines, and abundant birdlife. Families and swimmers can take advantage of accessible lakefront areas, and those looking to slow down can simply enjoy the views, watch for wildlife, or explore the many parks and recreation spots along the river corridor. Whatever the pace, the Blueway offers a peaceful and memorable way to experience the outdoors.
